Remodel....
OMG...I am so exhausted! This whole year has been the year of the HOME. This past month we have torn apart my studio...it is now in every other room of the house, under the carport...everywhere but in a home of its own. My studio has been remodeled into my new bedroom! Yes, I gave up the studio for now.
My new room is still the same colors...white painted paneling...cause it is what I had to work with...and that one wall that is about 1/2 wallpaper that I painted pink...watermelon pink then antiqued with a chocolate glaze. It looks like Basic Grey paper...yes, it was a scrap studio and I do love that antiqued look that BG so utilizes. I had the carpenter build a bigger closet and a cubby over the door. The cubby has no doors it is just open storage and has all of my quilts in view--antique quilts.
My closet I organized using Rubbermaid shelving systems..and it totally rocks! The carpet was laid on Wednesday...it is kind of a taupe/khaki look. That night we moved my monstrous bed in there and it totally eats up the space..but we now have room to move around the bed!
I bought a wing-backed chair from the auction of a lady from church---it is a sage kind of green and a steal at $10!!! I was thrilled! I have wanted a wing-backed chair as long as I could remember!
Does anyone know that curtains cost a mint??? I went shopping on Friday night...till all the stores closed and then went yesterday to Walmart..nothing there either. Then I convinced Char that I just had to go to Paducah again today and just buy some curtains and sheers. We can not keep sleeping in a room that faces a main highway with no window coverings! (Did I mention that because I was shopping for curtains, I bought a comforter? Yeah I did...I am so bad! It was half price and it was a beautiful Ralph Lauren that reminded me of a cottage look...just what I was going for! -- Here is a picture! Just the comforter/shams though. The dust ruffle I have but my bed is not made for that at all so it goes to the closet!

OH back to the curtains. Today we ran to Paducah and bought sheers and brown light blocking drapes...$319 in all just for the curtains! I don't like spending so much money! They entirely change the look of the room in a very good way! OH I didn't mention that the rods I purchase Friday night and they were over $130! I am telling you, curtains are expensive! But, for the first time, I did NOT want to make my own as I have almost always done.
I will have to upload some pix of the finished work asap.
