I am in LOVE!!!
Let me explain. I don't fall easily. I don't fall often. But when I do, I do crazy things. Tonight as I surfed some of my favorite cooking blogs, as I was cooking dinner, I came across a recipe for Banana Pancakes. The author gave a link to a song about Banana Pancakes which I had to follow. Unbeknownst to me, I was embarking on true love! Follow the below link to get a taste of this great fella.

His name: Jack Johnson. His songs lull me into total relaxation. I love the pure sound of instruments. His guitar strums my heart and as I clicked on other samples of his songs over at youtube, I fell deeper. I love the sound of the harmonica and one of the songs I found featured both the guitar and the harmonica. The music style and sound reminds me of long ago at family parties/dinners when someone would pick up the guitar and/or harmonica and let out some music.
I can remember especially, Sonny Matlock-a family friend. He was handsome--(now that I think of it he kind of reminded me of BJ from BJ & the Bear...an old TV program) and reminded me of a free-spirit. He played beautifully and sang equally as well. For a girl of probably 13, I was totally in love with him! LOL, never mind his wife..I loved his music. I was mesmerized by his lyrics and the sound of the guitar. As for the harmonica, my grandpa played. It strikes a very special memory in my heart.
Back to Jack. I naturally had to check out Walmart.com and saw that this dude had CD's there. Sooooo....I live 1 mile from the front door of my local Wally-world and off I went. Yep. I nabbed me his latest CD, "Sleep through the Static". I have it on playing now. Glad I am home alone!! I can let it play so loud! I plan to load it onto my IPOD next! Now I just have to watch for all the other CD's. I may have to order from online.
I think you should also know, I never buy CD's. Well, never is a long time, lets just say, rarely, if ever. I have purchased David Crowder and now Jack. I am happy. Most of the CD's I have are simply from the groups at our church. I never have been big on buying music since I have such a vast taste for many genres. I honestly would go broke. Sometimes Char will surprise me with a CD that I like, he is more apt to purchase those than myself. It is funny. I love LOVE music, yet I don't purchase music. I guess I have been happy to have radio. Loads of stations that fit my moods at the touch of a finger. But this CD of Jack's just hit the top of my playlist.
Enjoy the rest of your day!
