Just briefly....
A very busy weekend here at the house!
*Boys needed haircuts
*Cory needed new tires (started with the back tires this weekend)
*Jen's hair needed flattening (again)
*Char had our living room tore up when I got back to the house on Saturday.

Hmmm....tore up?

Defined: all furniture moved out of a 14x20 space and into a 3' wide hall, a 10x10 dining room (with dining room furniture) and a wee tiny kitchen.

It was funny---we actually watched a movie sitting on the loveseat in the kitchen!! Anyway, we did some work in there and now I have some new carpet laid! Really good from living on painted subflooring for the past couple of years--I like to do that..and do faux painting techniques. I didn't want the carpet laid wall to wall (even though end to end it is), but instead wanted the perimeter painted a really nice dark green/brown...got it and the perimeter is approx 9". Looks really good and I finally got to rearrange the living room!!!! New vinyl flooring at the front entry, too! It just looks good, smells like new and quite impressive for a couple of do it yourself-ers. Well, I admit, we didn't put pad under the carpet (yet). Seems crazy, but it is how I wanted it until the spring when I hope to have the perimeter w/ laminate flooring...then the carpet can be fully installed w/ padding and stretching. For now, my floors will be warmer this winter!

Doing things as you can is difficult, but financially more advisable! And perhaps a bit more rewarding (and frustrating at times too!). In our case, it is just the norm! We even had company today! My stepson and his girlfriend came over quite unexpectedly...for church and lunch....hehehee! Seems he always shows up when Char needs help the most!

Needless to say, no photos this weekend...it rained! (Praise God!) Maybe next weekend I will get some pix!
